ICAT introduces webinar series on trafficking in persons data collection and research
The Inter-Agency Coordination Group against Trafficking in Persons (ICAT) will organize six webinars on trafficking in persons data collection and research from June to November 2023. The webinars aim to advance discussions on trafficking in persons data collection and research in line with the Priority #1 (Building the evidence base) of the ICAT Plan of Action. Examples of ongoing initiatives to gather, analyze, and visualize human trafficking data, as well as issues pertaining to research on the topic, including ethical considerations, will be presented over the course of six webinars.

Webinar 5: Estimating the prevalence of trafficking in persons, 3 November, 2pm CET (Vienna)
Webinar 6: Ethical guidelines for outreach, research, collecting and use of data on trafficking in persons, 30 November, 2pm CET (Vienna)
These webinars will be conducted via the UNODC Knowledge Centre on Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling (KNOWTS). Recordings of the webinars will also be made available online as appropriate.
The initiative is spearheaded by the 2023 ICAT co-chairs – the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children (OSRSG-VAC) – under the overall coordination of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
